Nighttime breakdowns are, however, more complex. In this case, ensure that your hazard lights are on and exit from the passenger’s side in order to avoid getting hit.
Moreover, make use of reflectors or flares during the night in order to signal a hazard, while you wait for a towing truck to arrive on the spot. The prime job of the flares and reflectors would be to make yourself more visible in the dark.
