What The Weather Like in STL?
The weather in St. Louis is as dynamic as the city itself. Here’s what you can expect throughout the year:
St. Louis has a humid subtropical climate, characterized by four distinct seasons:
- Spring (March through May): Spring is a beautiful time in St. Louis, with blossoming trees and a break from winter’s chill. Temperatures range from the 50s to the 70s°F, and there’s a fair amount of rain, so keep that umbrella handy!
- Summer (June through August): Summers in St. Louis are hot and humid. Average temperatures hover in the high 80s to low 90s°F, but it’s not uncommon for the mercury to hit the 100°F mark during heatwaves. It’s an excellent time for a visit to one of our many pools or a float trip down the Meramec River.
- Fall (September through November): Fall is a favorite season for many St. Louisans. Temperatures cool down to a comfortable range in the 60s to 70s°F, and the city is aglow with stunning autumn foliage. It’s the perfect time for a walk in Forest Park or a trip to one of the nearby apple orchards.
- Winter (December through February): Winters in St. Louis can be quite cold, with temperatures often dropping below freezing. We do see snow, averaging about 18 inches per year. While it can be chilly, there’s something quite magical about the city dusted in snow, especially with holiday lights twinkling.
